HeyHao early-access list · Updated 6 November 2026
HeyHao is an early-stage Mandarin speaking-tutor project run by Calum Feenan. This notice covers this website and its early-access mailing list, rather than any future app.
What we collect
If you join, we store your email address, the time and wording version of your consent, and basic attribution: campaign labels from the link you followed, the page path and the referring website's hostname. We do not save the full referring URL. You can optionally share your Mandarin level, main reason for learning, your reaction to an indicative price and whether we may contact you for a research chat.
What we use it for
With your consent, we send HeyHao early-access invitations and product updates. Optional research answers help us decide whether and what to build. We only use the separate research-chat permission to invite you to a conversation. We do not sell your details.
Where it goes
Resend stores mailing-list contacts and optional answers. Vercel hosts the site and provides web analytics. These providers may process information internationally under their applicable data protection arrangements. Their notices describe their processing: Resend privacy policy and Vercel privacy policy.
Analytics and browser storage
Vercel Web Analytics measures visits and basic actions such as a completed signup. We do not intentionally send email addresses or your research answers to analytics. Campaign labels should not contain personal information. Your browser's session storage keeps the campaign attribution for the current tab. After signup, a secure, HTTP-only cookie allows you to add optional answers for one hour. It contains a signed contact identifier, not your email address.
Your choices
Use the unsubscribe link in any update to stop marketing emails. You can also ask to access, correct or delete your details, or withdraw your research-chat permission. Contact calum@heyhao.app. You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
How long we keep it
We plan to review this list within six months and remove contacts we no longer need for this validation and early-access phase. If you unsubscribe, a minimal suppression record may remain to help us respect that choice. We will explain any materially different use before asking for new consent.
Who this is for
The early-access list is intended for adults aged 18 or over.
